BETTY THOMAS
 BETTY THOMAS (Producer) is an award-winning director, in addition to being a successful producer. Until recently, she was partnered with Jenno Topping in Tall Trees Productions. Under the Tall Trees banner, Thomas served as an executive producer on the mega-hit actioner “Charlie's Angels” and its sequel, “Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle.” She also produced the romantic comedy “Can't Hardly Wait,” and directed and produced “I Spy,” starring Eddie Murphy and Owen Wilson.
As a director, Thomas had previously helmed the features “28 Days,” starring Sandra Bullock; the comedy hit “Dr. Dolittle,” with Eddie Murphy in the title role; the critically praised biopic “Private Parts,” which chronicled the rise of the controversial “shock jock” Howard Stern; and the comedy smash “The Brady Bunch Movie,” which spoofed television's favorite blended family.
Thomas was honored by her peers with a Directors Guild of America (DGA) Award and earned an Emmy nomination for Best Director of a Miniseries or Special for her work on “The Late Shift,” about the rivalry between Jay Leno and David Letterman to take over as host of “The Tonight Show.” She also won a Best Director Emmy for the telefilm “My Breast,” about the effect of breast cancer on one woman's life, and won Emmy and Cable ACE Awards for her direction of an episode of “Dream On.”
Thomas first came to fame as an actress. She gained national recognition for her Emmy-winning portrayal of Sergeant Lucy Bates on the much-honored television series “Hill Street Blues.”
